How to Use The Martindale Abrasion and Pilling Tester ?
Martindale Tester To determine the abrasion and pilling resistance of all kinds of textile structures. Samples are rubbed against known abradents at low pressures and in continuously changing directions and the amount of abrasion or pilling is compared against standard parameters.
Test piece of fabric is placed in the specimen clamp, and it will be rubbed against with abradant in a Lissajous figure. According to the requirement, once the test piece is broken, test piece should be taken down to calculate its abrasion resistance index, or evaluate its rating of pilling through the visual description.Below are two testing steps for Martindale.
1. Martindale Abrasion Testing
●Test abrading table installation.
●Put on the installed sample holder assembly on abrasion table and use 1pc of boltto fixed it. Place the weight(12Kpa or 9Kpa), according to the standard selection.
●Position pin hole change.
●Setting test cycles and speed that display on the left.
●Click "TEST" to running.
●When martindale fabric abrasion test machine reached test cycles, it will stop aautomatically, observe specimen.
●Place pilling specimen holder on Abrasion table, then place 260g weight,close the top cover. Use 1pc bolt to fixed it.
●Position pin hole change.
●Setting test cycles and speed that display on the left.
●Click "TEST" to running.
●When martindale pilling test machine reached test cycles, it will stop automatically, observe specimen.
